Peek-a-boo!
This weekend, we were waiting forever at the pharmacy for Emmie's presciption and she amused herself by learning to play peek-a-boo.
Why is she on medicine again, you might be asking yourself. The answer would be because she has her second double ear infection in the last three weeks. I suspected this one after the snotty nose became green-tinged, the low-grade fever stuck around and she was awake 6-7 times per night, including an hour-long screamfest at 3 a.m. on Friday night.
The doctor said if she has one more ear infection before February, we'll probably get a referral to an ENT. Of course we will, because this poor kid hasn't been through enough in the last 11 months. Of course she'll get tubes too. Par for the course around here.
Anyway, here's the sicky demonstrating her newfound skillz.

my coworker's kid had to have tubes put in and have his adenoid taken out. and then his wife went into labor early (by about a week) and so two days after the toddler's surgery, they had a newborn baby.
this is your random slightly related story for the day.
you're welcome.
:)
SO adorable!!!! Love the video. So sorry about the ear infection...yuck!
That video is so cute! Is that Jack giggling away in the background? What fun.
Sorry to hear about another ear infection. (And isn't it amazing that babies can be completely happy at times despite being sick?)
Take her to my chiropractor here in Michigan. Those ear infections will go away on their own.
She is adorable!! Buttercup just learned how to blow kisses!
Tubes have been great for my kids...though, X-man got three ear infections after the tubes went in. He apparently has waxy ears and they kept blocking the tubes which makes them not work...and the one ear infection he did get where it drained oozy blood stuff out his ears? Gross!!
Buttercup hasn't had any more infections since her tubes! Yea!
We took both of them to the ENT's office to have the tubes put in. It was a bit more expensive, but we didn't have to go through all the mess of no eating before surgery, waiting for anesthesia to wear off before leaving, etc. We were done in 10 minutes and could get the little one back home and down for a nap pretty quickly!
I am currently rocking the olive oil/garlic/onion remedy. I read online it works for the kiddies too (and so does your breast milk!! have you tried that yet? Can I have some?!) For the pain there are droppers that can hold her over. I could have told you this on the phone, but you won't listen either way :)
Have you thought about taking her to the chiropractor? I take my whole family, that includes my husband, me, my 9 year old, my 7 year old and my 9 1/2 month old. Wish I knew about the chiro when my older kids were babies, I think we would've been able to avoid tubes.
