I just saw on the news that the average Detroit autoworker makes $73 an hour.
Which of course made me curious to see what the average stay-at-home-mom would make, were she to be paid. That would be $24 an hour.
Absurd.

Actually, salary is about half that. The rest pays for benefits. Teacher's salary at the school district where I work was once published that way in a local paper, making people think we were taking home ridiculous amounts of cash. Sad.
Geez! No wonder the price of cars are so outrageous!
I am here and I think it is BS. My neighbors make that and for what? He might not be like all of them, but he doesn't really do much. Sometimes he drives a truck. Sometimes he plays poker. Sometimes he works. Something is seriously wrong with companies that need bailing out when they pay that much. My friend's company is Japanese. Instead of laying anyone off, they cut everyone's salary. I would rather have my salary cut then see myself or others be without a job.
I hate to say it, but I agree with "Middle Aged Woman"--I don't think autoworkers are bringing in the big bucks these days. But that's the lefty in me:)
Amy, CNN just reported that Josh might be laying off SAHMs, I hope you are putting $23 of those $24 away just in case... I will hire you to be the mom of my cute niece and nephew if it comes to that, though... :)
