Stand up and be a man
Jack has decided he wants to pee standing up now. He's observed and practiced and he's gained a mastery of the equipment, so we let him have at it.
He needs to stand on a stool at home, but he can handle public restrooms pretty well, from what I have observed. I wonder when he'll start asking for urinals in the women's restrooms I take him into?
While I must say it's a little cleaner from the standpoint of not having to worry about the potty seat anymore, I can only imagine the condition of the floors around the toilet in the coming weeks. We have three bathrooms he uses throughout the day, so that's three times the amount of mopping. On an everyday basis. I'm going to need a raise.

Yea Jack! A quick warning, make sure he pulls up his pants BEFORE slamming the potty seat down. My son slammed his peepee on the pot 3 times before he got the message. Poor little thing was sooo black and blue. When this happened, he was just at the right height for it to be slammed, but now that he's older, wiser and taller, it's no longer an issue.
Good job Jack!
My daughter just poopied in the big potty for the first time yesterday. She had previously poopied in the potty chair once before, and we immediately rewarded her. She never went again...for like months. Lesson learned.
Go for it Jack!
We are potty training Grant and he is just starting to show interest in standing. I asked some girlfriends who have 2 boys each. She said:
At home- have him stand on a stool but lean forward and hold the back of the potty.
Away from home- Have them stand ON the potty seat and lean, holding the wall behind.
It's all about getting in the right spot and helping the aim!
I've also heard (in the past) to put a Cherrio in the pot to let them have some fun and learn to aim. :-)
Oh, Jo, one Cheerio? No, no.....float the armada! So much more fun to blast a whole bunch of them around ;) But seriously, I have three boys (and I do count the one who is 6'4") and they are the reason for WetMops. Ick.
