Hoppy Easter!

For once, we spent a holiday in our own house and there was no driving of any kind involved! Josh's family came to our house for Easter brunch this year and my family isn't celebrating until two weeks from now because my sister went on vacation. So Jack looked for eggs and baskets and Emmie just watched from her swing. It was a delightful and laidback day. I even made quiche! From scratch! All-organic! I am awesome. And fat. But there was spinach in it, so that made it healthy right?

Anyway, I couldn't resist the picture. Jack made some ears and a tail in his art class and loves to wear them and Emmie is too little to stop me from doing these embarassing things yet.

SHUT UP! My son had the EXACT SAME SURGERY your daughter did a few weeks ago! Ah...there is nothing like trying to appear calm in the waiting room while rocking slightly back and forth thinking, "Someone is cutting my baby...someone is cutting my baby...." I put it right up there with natural childbirth-- which I DIDN'T have because, you know, I'm not crazy. (My apologies for my previous comment if you had natural childbirth. I suffer from a severe case of low pain tolerance. An epidural was a medical necessity-- for my husband.) Anywho, I'm glad to hear your daughter is doing well. My son (Joshua) is also on the mend. We did the block, too, by the way. Josh, double hernias, spinal blocks--so many similarities.... Now if you live in the Chicago area and love shoes, then we could be SOUL MATES!

Would it be okay if I put the link to my own blog? I'm new to blogging and not sure of blogging ettiquette. If I've overstepped my bounds, please let me know.

Once again, cheers for healthy Em!

Amy,

I just got back from an invigorating excursion to McDonald’s Play Land and saw the comment you left on my blog. (Thanks for that, by the way.) Some people spend spring break in the Caribbean. Some spend it in the Hawaiian Islands. I spend my spring break getting dental work done and romping with preschoolers in germ-filled play land tubes while the Novocain slowly wears off…. I know, I know-- I am living the dream.

You live in the Chicagoland area, too? Northwest suburbs perhaps? That is where the Trish clan originates. Oh, and what’s the word on shoes? Are you a fan? Does DSW sing its siren song for you, too, or is that something only I can hear? And what is your position on Botox? I’m currently in a Botox/Rejuvex/Bare Minerals quandary.

Oh oh. We finally have nice weather, and I let my three year old play on the swing set outside the back door—door open, of course. It is strangely quiet. This means trouble. I better go investigate. It’s been five months since the sandbox was used—ANYTHING could be living in there.

hmm, at what age DO the kids have the power to make you not embarrass them anymore? I'm 26, and my dad still embarrasses me...
